Ignis

Two paintings built around Lorca’s Llanto por Ignacio Sánchez Mejías and his writing on duende. Ignis I: Five in the Afternoon takes the elegy’s refrain as its ground. Ignis II: Absentia answers from the other side of the threshold. The diptych is meant to be read together, in either direction.
